Adolphe Menjou (1890-1963)
Toujours tiré à quatre épingles, portant la moustache, d’une élégance racée, il jouait souvent les Français aristocrates et coureurs de jupons dans les films américains, mais il était né en fait à Pittsburgh d’un père originaire des Basses-Pyrénées. Il débute dans les années 1910, joue dans LE SHEIK (1921), CHERCHEUSES d’OR DE 1935 (35), La loi du plus fort (55), LES SENTIERS DE LA GLOIRE (57), un de ses meilleurs rôles est celui du Français « Framboise », ami de Clark Gable dans Au-delà du Missouri (51)… un des plus beaux westerns de l’histoire du cinéma. Un de ses plus mauvais rôles : il eut tendance à dénoncer allègrement ses confrères communistes pendant le MacCarthysme
Art Mix (George Kesterson) (1896-1972)
Grand second rôle du western de série B des années 20-30 (il joue souvent les ‘Henchmen’), Art Mix se faisait appeler aussi George Kesterson. 226 films et 97% de westerns… Mieux que Jack Elam, recordman du genre !

Robert Barrat (1889/1970)
Acteur de théâtre à Broadway entre 1918 et 1932, Robert Harriot Barrat a tourné trois films sous le muet, sa carrière démarre vraiment au début des années 30, c’est un acteur de second rang, vu notamment dans plusieurs westerns avec Randolph Scott
Premier western en 1934 avec Massacre ; Moonlight on the prairie en 1935… il joue Lincoln dans le western d’espionnage Sur la piste de l’Ouest. Il est Chingachgook dans Sagamore le Mohican ; Arizona Bill (37) ; puis, La ruée sauvage (38), Forbidden valley (38), Return of the Cisco Kid en 39, suivi de The Cisco kid and the lady en 39.
Après ça, Robert incarne Davy Crockett dans la bio. de Sam Houston Man of conquest (39)
Robert Barrat tient alors son seul 1er rôle dans un western, le palpitant et original Bad Lands, il campe un shérif qui traque des rebelles apaches dans le désert
1939 : la superproduction de DeMille, Pacific express.
Aventures dans la colonie britannique de 1759 avec Le premier rebelle (39) avec John Wayne, que Barrat retrouve dans La femme du pionnier en 45… Le grand passage. Et Heritage of the desert… Return of the Cisco Kid… The Cisco kid and the lady… Colorado Sunset

Un de ses plus mémorables rôles est celui du truculent corsaire Barbe-Noire dans un des plus beaux films de pirates du cinéma : LA FLIBUSTIÈRE DES ANTILLES avec Jean Peters, il incarnait aussi le roi du cirque Bouglione dans TRAPÈZE en 1956, ses dernières apparitions sont dans LE SECRET DE LA PLANETE DES SINGES et un épisode de Gunsmoke au début des seventies…
